 — Sterling Longwith, Program Lead - Top Fuel & Custom Stud Production | Sterling Longwith joined P1 Manufacturing in its early days after stopping by the clean, modern shop floor while working nearby. Mentored by top manufacturing instructors, Sterling rapidly advanced to lead several of P1's most demanding precision machining programs. Sterling oversees the high-stakes CH3 NO2 (Top Fuel Nitromethane) block program, custom stud production, robotics, and shop fabrication. His precision components power Top Fuel engines pushing nearly 12,000 horsepower - where absolute perfection is mandatory for safety and performance. A true craftsman who is relentless in his pursuit of perfection, Sterling brings extreme critical thinking, technical discipline, and custom fabrication expertise to every complex part he produces. |
BEHIND THE SCIENCE & PASSION
Q: What requires the absolute highest level of skill in your position?
The Top Fuel block program requires the most skill and attention to detail. There is zero room for error. Holding tight tolerances on parts subjected to that level of force requires extreme critical thinking, technical knowledge, and discipline.
Q: What recent project or achievement are you most proud of?
Seeing Top Fuel blocks that I've run from start to finish winning major NHRA races. I'm also proud of developing new revisions on custom studs, handling complex parts other shops couldn't make, and leading a major robotics initiative from the ground up.
