— Brayton Clark, Lead / Setter — Grinding Department

Brayton Clark's path to P1 Manufacturing is built on hands-on mechanical expertise and military discipline. After high school, Brayton earned his ASE certification as a mechanic before serving four years in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman. Upon returning home, his passion for performance vehicle manufacturing brought him straight to P1.

As Lead and Setter in the Grinding Department, Brayton manages department workflow, machinery maintenance, and precision setups. His work directly ensures that P1's critical fasteners deliver unmatched reliability under extreme engine loads.

Outside the shop floor, Brayton continues to serve his country as a member of the Missouri National Guard while actively pursuing his passion for engine builds and motorsports.

BEHIND THE SCIENCE & PASSION

Q: What critical tolerances do you maintain in the grinding department?

In grinding, we pay extreme attention to diameters. We maintain tight tolerances down to .0002” (two ten-thousandths of an inch), which keeps thread quality completely consistent across every run.

Q: How does P1 ensure quality on the shop floor?

Quality starts with checking parts. One non-conforming part stops production immediately until we find the cause. This keeps our customers from dealing with headaches and guarantees they receive the best product every time.

Q: What project or milestone are you most proud of?

Our new venture into aerospace has been very fulfilling. We achieved our AS9100 certification in a short amount of time, which is something very few manufacturing companies can say.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at P1?

Delivering customers the highest quality parts on the market, made right here in the United States by a dedicated team working towards the same goal.
